Gold rate history
How to read this price
“We sell” is the price per gram of gold we charge on jewellery, before the making charge. “We buy” is the price per gram we pay when we buy gold back. A gap between the two is normal in every gold shop.
The making charge is added on top and depends on the piece. Each piece’s own page shows its full price, worked out from this rate.

Where this rate comes from
Our rate follows the daily bulletin of the General Syndicate of Owners of Jewelry and Goldsmith Shops, the official reference price for gold in Jordan.
The syndicate may revise its bulletin during the day; the time above shows when our current rate took effect. The syndicate does not issue a bulletin on Fridays, so on Fridays this page shows the last published rate.
Gold price questions
What is the gold price in Jordan today?
Today, 21K gold sells at JOD 84.90 per gram and we buy it back at JOD 81.00. 24K sells at JOD 97.30, 18K at JOD 75.20 and 14K at JOD 59.10 per gram. The full table is above.
Why is there a sell price and a buy price?
The sell price is what is charged per gram of gold in jewellery; the buy price is what is paid per gram when gold is bought back. A gap between them is normal in every gold shop.
Is the gold price the same in Amman, Irbid and the rest of Jordan?
The syndicate publishes one bulletin for the whole country, so the reference rate per gram is the same in Amman, Irbid and across Jordan. What differs from one shop to another is the making charge, and any discount a shop chooses to give.
Is there a gold price on Friday?
The syndicate does not issue a bulletin on Fridays. This page keeps showing the last published rate until the next bulletin.
Does the per-gram rate include the making charge?
No. The rate is for the gold only. The making charge is added to each piece, and the price shown on every product page already includes it.
What is the difference between 21K and 18K gold?
21K is 87.5% pure gold and 18K is 75%. 21K is the karat most gold jewellery in the region is made in; 18K is harder and holds set stones more securely.
